Informazioni relative alla eleggibilità di un atleta alla nazionale italiana
Per poter essere eleggibili secondo le regole di World Lacrosse si deve verificare una delle seguenti 2 condizioni:
- I giocatori devono essere in possesso di passaporto italiano (preferibile)
- oppure devono essere in possesso di documenti che attestino le origini italiane (almeno un genitore o un nonno in possesso di certificato di nascita italiano o cittadinanza italiana).
Se sei già in possesso di uno di questi documenti sei pregato di inviarli in formato elettronico a mensteam@lacrosseitalia.it
Per la nazionale under 20 ci sono poi da rispettare i requisiti relativi all’età.
Per il campionato europeo 2024:
- i giocatori devono avere almeno 16 anni il giorno prima dell’inizio della competizione
- i giocatori devono essere nati dopo il 31 agosto 2003 (o dopo 31 agosto 2001 come U22)
Anche in questo caso, puoi inviare il tuo passaporto o i tuoi documenti che attestino le origini italiane a mensteam@lacrosseitalia.it
È importante che sia chiaro che solo rispettare queste condizioni rende l’atleta eleggibile per la nazionale italiana.
Il nome sarà inserito in un apposito elenco ma sarà completa discrezione degli allenatori e dei team manager invitare il giocatore ad eventuali try-out o tornei sulla base delle informazioni che sono state fornite per poi decidere una eventuale convocazione per i prossimi campionati europei.

Information regarding an athlete’s eligibility for the Italian national team
To be eligible under World Lacrosse rules, one of the following 2 conditions must be met:
– Players must hold an Italian passport (preferred)
– or must possess documents proving Italian ancestry (at least one parent or grandparent in possession of an Italian birth certificate or Italian citizenship).

For the national under-20 team, there are then age requirements to be met.
For the European Championship 2024:
– players must be at least 16 years old on the day before the start of the competition
– players must be born after August 31, 2003 (or after August 31, 2001 as U22)

What has to be clear is that meeting these conditions only makes the athlete eligible for the Italian national team.
The name will be placed on a special list but it will be the complete discretion of the coaches and team managers to invite the player to any try-outs or tournaments based on the information that has been provided to then decide on a possible call-up for the upcoming European Championships.
